Our Story

Affinity Project is committed to rigorous formal experimentation in the field of theater. Drawing inspiration from postmodern dance and performance in visual art, Affinity remains committed to the theater as a radical, live form. Formed in 2012, Affinity works collaboratively in an investigative practice.

In 2013 and 2014, Affinity presented a work in progress, NOCTURNE, at FoolsFury Factory Parts Festival in San Francisco. In 2014, they received a Zellerbach Grant and in 2015, were selected as one of CounterPulse's Artistic Residency Commissioning (ARC) Program artists. The residency culminated in a fully produced work, RUSSIAN PLAY produced by CounterPusle at ODC in November of 2015. Affinity Project was included in Hope Mohr Dance's Bridge Project in October of 2016 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
